I think codemasters is going to have to rethink the strategy here, or some other rally game is going to swoop in and steal the fanbase of the older games. Unfortunately, by creating these two extremes to differentiate the games, they are leaving a big empty space in the middle for the fans who liked the combination of a fun game but with great physics. Now, we have Dirt Rally 2.0 which has a incredible driving model but is almost a sim to the point of no longer being a game, and Dirt 5, which is so casual that it almost feels like Mario Cart. The problem here is that most fans liked the older Dirt games because they were a good balance of arcade and sim, hardcore and casual.
